SAIL AN ANCIENT GREEK ISLAND PARADISE

Welcome to the Dodecanese islands of Greece; an archipelago of 16 ancient islands on the Mediterranean's south-eastern border with Asia. Yachts will sail from the island of Kos, hitting all of the best spots over seven days of nautical debauchery. Featuring stunning coastlines, active volcanoes, a pop-up venue in an abandoned ancient village and a healthy portion of Greek tzatziki, this may be our best route yet!!

SECURITY, SAFETY & ALCOHOL

Crime (and especially yacht crime) is in general low in this region, however, always be vigilant and don’t take the laid back lifestyle for granted. The locals respect other people's possessions and are very aware of the trade that tourists bring. However, you should always lock your yacht when unattended and make sure hatches are closed (in case of rain) and locked. Never leave valuables in sight such as electronics, cash and passports. Yachts do not have safes so we advise against bringing valuable items that can be left at home.

It is always prudent to stick together in groups at night and make sure everyone gets home safely. Take extra care when moving around the yacht in darkness, especially when the decks are wet.

Drink alcohol in moderation and when you do please be extra careful when being near and around water and moving around the yachts.

The BucketLust has a zero tolerance policy to drugs and we will report any drugs at our events to the police and ban you from the event.

TAP WATER

The public tap water on the islands is generally not drinkable. We recommend drinking bottled water only.

GENERAL COST OF LIVING

A meal for two at a mid range restaurant is approximately €60 (with house wine). A bottle of beer is approximately €4.

HOSPITALS, INJURY, PHARMACY

Levels of care in Greece may not be the same as in your home country. It's important to have health and travel insurance that will cover any accidents that may occur on board a yacht because you may need to be airlifted to get to the nearest hospital.

If you become ill or suffer an injury during the trip, immediately contact the local emergency authorities or Route Manager, who will liaise with the appropriate Greek contact to make arrangements. Many of the islands have a small health clinic or you will need to be taken to a larger hospital on Kos or Rhodes.

Emergency services are mostly accessible on VHF CH 16 or 112 via cell phone

Sea rescue: contact the charter company

Hospital of Kos: +30 2242 054200

ELECTRICITY

Electricity in Greece is 230 volts which is the European standard (bring adapters as necessary).

GREECE DRONE REGULATIONS

You can find all the information you need on drone regulations here. https://uavcoach.com/drone-laws-in-greece/

TAXIS

Cash only, they do not take credit card. There is NO uber or similar rideshare app companies operating in the islands.

CAR RENTAL (KOS)

If you arrive to Kos early, renting a car is the easiest way to get around the island. Car rental costs are from around 55 Euro per day for a small car, 105 Euro for a large car. Please note you will require a current valid driver's license. Contact Hertz for competitive rates and pick up/ drop off from the airport or marina- Tel +30 2242 028002

LATE ARRIVAL/EARLY DEPARTURE

We will spend our first night, 29 June / 6 July, in Kos Marina. The Yachts will not depart until 8am the following morning. If you arrive after that, we suggest taking a ferry to meet us at our next destination(s). For those needing to depart earlier than our arrival back into Kos Marina on 5 July / 12 July at 5pm, we suggest taking a ferry back as well.

Yacht Information

YACHT INFORMATION

Yacht Information

YACHT INFORMATION

Safety

Please take care at all times when moving around the yacht. There are many moving parts, ropes, rails and steps that can cause injury if you are not careful, especially when it’s dark and the decks are wet.

Ensure you know where the life jackets are located on the yacht and how to wear them before getting underway.

Stay in groups at night and make sure all your crew gets back safe!

Alcohol, sailing and water can all present serious risks when enjoyed together. Please be responsible at all times and look out for each other. #NoUnicornLeftBehind

Remain vigilant and if you see people you don’t recognize around the yachts please notify a member of TBL staff.

Electricity on your yacht

When not connected to shore power, yachts run off batteries. Batteries are a limited power source charged by running the engine/generator (the more power you use the more you must run the engine/generator to recharge the batteries). Generators also provide power direct to power outlets within the yacht. Whether or not your yacht has a generator will be specified in your yacht booking information. The yachts will have European plugs. Ensure you have adaptors.

Batteries only produce 12 volts, so an inverter or 12v charger (cigarette plug adaptor) is needed to power items that demand a higher voltage. To save power always turn off lights/fans/stereos when not in use.

Toilets

Your skipper will give you a full demonstration on how to correctly use toilets on board yachts.

The most common way to incur damages at checkout is by blocking toilets from flushing paper/sanitary towels down them. Please use the bins provided in toilets to dispose of these items instead. No one wants a blocked toilet all week!

Skipper/chef tipping

Although not obligatory, it is customary within the yacht charter industry to tip skippers/chefs that go above and beyond to make you have an unforgettable experience. If this is something you wish to do, we suggest guidelines of a tip between $50-$150 per guest. Of course, you may wish to tip more than this depending on the service you receive.

Music

The yacht has the equivalent of a car stereo system so bring an Aux cable/iTrip FM Transmitter/Bluetooth adapter.

WI-FI

Some of the yacht charters offer Wi-Fi packages. You can purchase this at check in from the yacht charter companies.

Our ethos

OUR ETHOS

BELONG TO OUR GLOBAL FAMILY

Our ethos

OUR ETHOS

BELONG TO OUR GLOBAL FAMILY

Welcome to The BucketLust! You're one of us now...

The concept is beautifully simple: we aim to host mind-blowing vacations, in fresh adventurous locations, with a like-minded group of party unicorns. We are built in your image, putting you our wonderful guests, first and foremost everytime. Our concept is founded around leveraging the following three key concepts.

1. EVENTS Crowdfund

We crowdfund the events by splitting the total cost between all the yachts joining us. At inception we poll previous and potential guests, as well as local experts and sailors to create an events budget. This covers costs such as DJs, photo and video teams, events staff, venue hire, sound systems, communal dinners, fireworks, custom apparel and any other awesome additions we think you will love. Anything not spent at the end of the event will be given back to you in the form of an even more insane closing party!

We leverage our group buying power to secure the best deals, including on the yacht charter costs themselves. We are fully transparent and will only spend this money on events we think will add value to your experience. We believe you are investing in a experience, less buying a vacation. Therefore, we ruthlessly pursue a return on your investment and your trust in us!

2. Community

You, our incredible TBL family, is always right! We base our events, locations, parties and activities around what you want. We try our best to poll our community and get honest feedback to make sure we are providing exactly what you want and to understand how we can improve. We are a new concept and whilst we can expect teething problems we are always looking to get better. We will always make best efforts to accommodate what you want.

Further, we want to leverage the skills of our immensely talented community. Whether that be local knowledge, a fixer you know on the ground, an epic DJ you want playing, a partner company you think would be an amazing fit or a yacht provisioning service you set up, we want you to get involved and help us shape the future of TBL! We truly believe that in reaching out to our community in such a way keeps us down to earth, tied to delivering exactly what you really want, and working hard for you.

3. Us

We, the founders of TBL, have a combined experience of over 200 similar style yacht weeks all around the world. We comprise both ex-guests, ex-skippers and ex-event managers and have, therefore, experienced this style of vacation from many different angles with a huge and varied amount of experience to draw on. We know what works and what doesn’t, and we have made some great contacts along the way. We aim to leverage this unrivaled, all-round experience to propel TBL events to be the market leading service of its kind. We aim to add some of our secret-special-sauce to your bucket lists creating an unparalleled, highly customer focused and truly immersive experience, built solely with your happiness in mind.

Achieving the dream

Our goal is that in combining these three inputs, we can revolutionise the current market offering that has become heavily commercialized and has lost track of its roots. We will strip it back to purely giving the people what they want. We only aim to make what we need to, in order to compensate us for our time organising and to allow us to scout out the next adventure!

We are so happy and grateful that you have joined us at this early stage of our concept. We hope to grow together and build something unstoppable!
